To remain at the forefront of architectural education worldwide, the Architectural Association (AA) relies on support from individuals, partners and organisations who share its pioneering vision and global values. Contributions, whether one-off donations, sponsorships, regular gifts or volunteered time, enable the realisation of the school's ambition to provide the highest quality of architectural education to the most talented students, regardless of their financial means.
As an educational charity and membership association, the AA receives no government funding. Philanthropic support from individuals and organisations is therefore essential to the institution’s present and future. The AA is committed to ethical fundraising, transparency and professionalism in seeking financial support, and contributions are accepted, managed and disbursed by the Architectural Association Foundation (AAF), an independent charitable trust established in 1989.
The Architectural Association (AA) must keep evolving and developing. This is a continuous process and requires financial support from generous individuals and groups that value its educational and cultural contributions to the architectural field worldwide. Making a one-off or regular donation helps the AA to build the funds required to achieve immediate strategic priorities and plan for the future; making a major donation supports the school in providing a relevant and progressive architectural education of the highest quality to the best students from around the world. Partnering with the AA can raise the profile of your business or organisation, give access to exceptional creative talent and help the school to produce high-quality research and cultural content. However you choose to give support, your contribution will have a transformative impact on the AA for generations to come.

The AA has grown from two people in 1847 to more than 7,500 members all over the world in 2020. Approximately 800 students, 250 tutors and 100 administrative staff members now share eight Georgian terraced houses on Bedford Square and a 350-acre woodland site in Dorset. Major donations have been fundamental to this evolution and ensure that all students are sufficiently equipped with the necessary spaces, tools and resources that will allow them to flourish at the school and in their professional careers. These significant contributions can be used for various purposes, and all potential major donors are advised to contact the school to discuss the possibilities for how their support can be facilitated and used.
