Technical information about this website’s accessibility

The AA School is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  1. Podcast content does not have text alternative transcripts. This fails WCAG 1.2.1 Audio-only and Video-only (Prerecorded) (A).
  2. Our back-catalogue of past Events and News items do not yet all feature ‘alt text’. This fails WCAG 1.1.1 (Non-Text Content)

If you find an issue that we have yet to identify, please contact us using one of the routes described in the ‘Feedback and contact information’ section of this statement.

Disproportionate burden

At this time, we have made no claims of disproportionate burden.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

Some of our PDFs and Word documents are essential to providing our services. For example, we have PDFs with supplementary information on how users can apply for our services. We are currently working on fixing these essential documents or replacing them with accessible html web pages. This work should be completed by the end od September 2026.

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.

Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

The AA School is doing the following to improve accessibility:

With specific reference to the items listed in the section ‘Non-accessible content’:

On 1 (Podcast alternative text content), we are actively working to provide this content and hope to have it available before the end of April 2026. We will update this statement once it is available.

On 2 ('alt text' for past Event and News images), this is an exceptionally high volume of images and therefore very significant volume of work. It will take us some time to fill this gap, but we aim to have worked through this by the end of September 2026, and will update this statement with our progress.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 09/03/2026 It was last reviewed on 09/03/2026.
