Information for Students

During their time at the Architectural Association (AA), individuals on all programmes benefit from friendly administrative support and a welcoming, student-facing service that can provide advice regarding all areas of life within the unique and intimate learning environment of the AA. The sections below provide useful information for students.

Fees and Financial Assistance

The AA offers a range of scholarships and bursaries for new and existing students who demonstrate exceptional promise and financial need. All applicants are eligible regardless of age, nationality or background. Find out more about academic fees, the bursaries and scholarships on each of the programme pages here.

For current students, information on fees and financial assistance can be found here.
If you need assistance accessing the intranet with your AA account, please contact IT support.

Housing Advice

The AA recognises that the prospect of finding private-sector housing upon arrival in London can be daunting and has therefore enlisted the services of the University of London Housing Services (ULHS). The ULHS offers advice to students regarding how to find accommodation, which areas to consider, pricing, contract checking, legal advice and more. They produce an annual London Student Housing Guide and maintain an online database of available accommodation provided by registered landlords and letting agents for both groups and individuals. The ULHS also works with short-term accommodation providers and Private Student Halls of Residences.

The ULHS is a great resource for information and events that are open to AA students and applicants. Additionally, students and offer holders can book an appointment for advice, you’ll just need to provide ULHS with a copy of your AA ID card or offer from the AA. Click here for more information.

The AA offers accommodation for Design and Make students to rent at Juniper Barns, within walking distance of the Hooke Park campus. The accommodation is arranged as 2 bedroom units, each with a kitchen, bathroom and living area, around a communal courtyard. Places at Juniper Barns are limited and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Click here for more information.

Student Forum

The Student Forum is comprised of all currently registered full-time students of the AA, who fund its activities through annual subscriptions at the beginning of each academic year. Operating on behalf of and for the benefit of the collective student body, the group is responsible for organising events and initiatives at the school, as well as distributing funds in the form of travel bursaries that support individuals throughout the school in paying for their study trips.
