The Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture is an internationally recognised, independent architecture school based in Bedford Square, London, and Hooke Park, Dorset. These two campuses support a wide range of academic and public programmes.
With a student body and staff drawn from around the world, and through the internationally recognised Public Programme and Visiting School’s global short courses, the AA maintains a strong international presence.
As an independent institution, the AA is governed democratically. Members of the School Community – which comprises students, staff and members of Council – vote on key decisions, such as recommending the appointment of a candidate for School Director to the AA Council, or approving significant institutional changes. This structure encourages active participation in shaping the AA’s direction and promotes a strong sense of community ownership.
