The AA’s exhibition, AAAAYY: same same but different, has been featured in Wallpaper*. The article profiles the London-based design studio YY, led by Tawanda Chiweshe and Francisco Gaspar, whose creative practice forms the basis of the current exhibition. On display at the AA Gallery, AAAAYY explores Chiweshe and Gaspar’s collaborative practice, which was initiated during their joint tenure at ALASKA ALASKA, the creative agency led by the late Virgil Abloh. Natalia Rachlin writes in Wallpaper* that the exhibition ‘serves as an introduction to their universe, where prototyping, collaboration and conversation take centre stage’. AA director Ingrid Schroder is quoted as describing YY’s practice as ‘far more resilient, flexible and adaptable’ than conventional approaches to design. AAAAYY: same same but different is on view until Saturday 21 March 2026 alongside an accompanying series of public events.
