Hussein Mohamed Radi is recorded as an Egyptian student at the Architectural Association, London, in 1970-71, where he enrolled in the postgraduate Department of Development and Tropical Studies. According to the Student Register, Radi joined Hartmut Schmetzer’s tutorial group and duly graduated with a Development and Tropical Studies Diploma in 1971. Details of his early education and subsequent career are not yet known to us beyond the fact that in 1979 he was giving a correspondence address in Cairo.
