Suchit Kumar Mitra is recorded as an Indian student enrolled on the 1970-71 postgraduate programme run by the Architectural Association’s (AA) Department of Development and Tropical Architecture, in London. He was tutored by Michael Safier and duly graduated with a postgraduate diploma in the summer of 1971. Immediately prior to his time at the AA, Mitra appears to have been working for the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, based at their headquarters in Lagos. However, details of Mitra’s subsequent career are not yet known to us.
