Gustavo Brunelli graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Sao Paulo and won an Alban scholarship to the MA in Environment & Energy Studies at the AA which he completed with Distinction in 2004. He has worked as environmental consultant on the new headquarters for Petrobras in Rio de Janeiro and with BDSP Partnership on projects in the UK and abroad including the Velopark project for the London Olympic & Paralympic Games.

Joana Goncalves studied architecture and urbanism in Rio de Janeiro where she practiced with Ana Maria Niemeyer. She took the MA in Environment and Energy Studies at the AA School and a PhD on the sustainability of tall buildings at the University of Sao Paulo where she has been teaching since 1998. She has worked as an environmental consultant on projects around Brazil and has won awards in a number of design competitions. Her book on the environmental attributes of tall buildings is due for publication in 2009. |

Klaus Bode BSc(Hons) HonFRIBA

Klaus Bode studied building engineering at the University of Bath and worked for Sir William Halcrow & Partners, K-Konsult and Roger Preston & Partners with whom he was project engineer on Foster & Partners' Commerzbank, and on Rogers Partnership and Renzo Piano Building Workshop's Potsdamer Platz developments in Berlin . He is a founding partner of BDSP Partnership, a London-based firm of environmental engineers specialising in sustainable environmental design with projects in many countries.

| Simos Yannas DiplArchEng AADiplGrad(Hons) PhD Simos Yannas is the Director of the MSc / MArch in Sustainable Environmental Design and Academic Coordinator of the AA PhD Programme. He studied at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, the National Technical University of Athens, and the AA Graduate School. He has been involved in environmental design research, teaching and consultancy since the late 1970s and has lectured in schools of architecture and professional institutes in some thirty countries. He was awarded the Passive and Low Energy Architecture PLEA International Achievement Award in 2001 and 2008. simos@aaschool.ac.uk |
Raul Moura BA(Hons) MA(AA EE)

Raul Moura studied architecture and urbanism at the Technical University of Lisbon and worked for the Department of Strategic Planning of Lisbon City Council, where he was principal urban designer of the Alcântara-Rio Urban Redevelopment project. He received the MA in Environment & Energy Studies from the AA in 1998 and has been teaching in the programme since 1999. He has worked as a sustainability consultant since 2002 leading major master planning projects in the UK and overseas. |
Jorge Rodriguez BArch MA MSc |
Jorge Rodriguez graduated from the Architectural School of A Coruña, Spain and was awarded an MA in Building Conservation and Urban Regeneration from the University of Santiago de Compostela. He completed the MSc in Sustainable Environmental Design at the AA with Distinction in 2008. He has worked for Glez-Cebrian’s on architectural and urban design projects, and was involved in New Dwelling Spaces, a research project for sustainable housing prototypes. He co-founded SAAI in 2009, an environmental consultancy firm with projects in Europe, Asia and America.
