Álvaro F. Pulpeiro

INTRODUCTION TO CIVIL WAR: a frontier fiction

Series: EN LA ARENA SE HA BAÑADO LA SOMBRA
Date: Friday 15 March 2019
Time: 18:30
Venue: AA Gallery
Running time: 0 mins
How can we film and construct the impossible? This conversation will discuss that who nobody can tame or reduce to a single image, and will present the production of an ongoing feature film that deals with landless frontier characters, contraband oil economies and the ever-present but never-revealed ghost of a civil war brewing in Venezuela. From NOSTROMO by Joseph Conrad to now.

Álvaro F. Pulpeiro (Galicia, 1990) is a filmmaker and writer currently based in Bogotá, Colombia. He graduated from the AA in 2015, and since then has been dealing with a type of cinema that thrives in the extreme limits of the west.

All lectures are open to members of the public, staff and students unless otherwise stated.
