Hans Stimmann, Director of Berlin's Senate Department for Building and Housing, discusses the redevelopment of the reunified city through a masterplan of 'critical reconstruction' that maintains various traditional elements of Berlin's historical structure.
Alan Balfour, Chair of the AA, provides a brief comparative study that emphasizes the differences between the historical development of Berlin and London as urban centres.
Rob Scott, director of planning at Dartford Borough Council, discusses the potential for regeneration opportunities in the East Thames Corridor (an earlier version of the Thames Gateway), a vast area stretching downriver from East London into North Kent and South Essex.
