Date: Monday 6 November 2006
'Today, the need to identify and instrumentalize "spatial practices" becomes significant due to the unprecedented visibility of what one might call "globalization at work": from Iraq to Nepal, Dubai to Mumbai, a new atlas is being re-drawn for the 21st century.' A lecture celebrating the publication of Did Someone Say Participate? An Atlas of Spatial Practice, edited by Shumon Basar and Markus Miessen. Following a series of brief ruminations by the editors on the aims and objectives of the book, there are short presentations from three of the book's contributors: Joseph Grima, Celine Condorelli and Beatrice Gibson. Followed by a general discussion.
All lectures are open to members of the public, staff and students unless otherwise stated.
