AA Weekly

Bat Yam Town Hall, Israel, by architects Alfred Neumann, Zvi Hecker, and Eldar Sharon / Find out more

Keeping in line with Free Space, the theme of the 16th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, this week at the AA we tackle space in its multitude of trajectories. Explore alternative takes on modernism, the space between writing and performance and the imagined futures of London. This Thursday, Ana Araujo and Rafi Segal discuss the work of Czech modernist architect Alfred Neumann (1900–1968) who is recognised for questioning ‘humanised’ space through a kind of design that was proportionally scaled to the dimensions of the human body. As always, keep an eye on what’s happening at the AA by visiting www.aaschool.ac.uk.
