2019 Nicholas Boas Scholarship

We are delighted to announce that applications are open for the Nicholas Boas Scholarship. This travel scholarship, established in memory of former AA student Nicholas Boas (1975-1998) allows two AA students to spend three weeks in Rome in July 2019. The recipient will be based at the British School at Rome, where generations of artists and scholars have researched the history, art and architecture of Italy. All expenses for the trip are generously taken care of by the Nicholas Boas Trust and any current AA registered full-time student may apply by emailing a short written paragraph stating why they wish to travel to Rome and what interest they intend to pursue whilst they are there.

The deadline for applications is 1pm on Thursday 16  May 2019 by email to Sabrina Blakstad (Sabrina.blakstad@aaschool.ac.uk) and must contain the name, email address, telephone number, year/programme of study of the applicant.

A shortlist of applicants will be asked to attend an informal interview to discuss their current work and their ideas for a Rome visit. The successful candidate is expected to produce a small body of work as a result of their visit; sketches, photographs or the basis of a project. For further information please contact Sabrina Blakstad at the email address above.
