AA Diploma Unit 6 Master Chris Lee will be giving a joint lecture with Kapil Gupta (AAGDG 1997) in UIA Regional Forum 2007. This is taking place in Kuala Lumpur from 7th - 8th July 2007. Other speakers include Ryue Nishizawa of SANAA and Billie Tsien.

The current issue of BD (Friday June 29) features a technical study of this year's AA Summer Pavilion. The article includes interviews with student Margaret Dewhurst and tutor Martin Self from Intermediate Unit 2. the pavilion is currently under construction in Bedford Square and will open as part of the Projects Review exhibition on July 7th.

The first set of components for this year's AA Summer Pavilion has arrived in Bedford Square. Building work will begin on site from Wednesday (28 June) to construct the temporary structure that has been designed by Intermediate Unit 2 students.

Shumon Basar and Markus Miessen's latest book With/Without was launched at the prestigious International Design Forum in May. Information about the book and the event is featured in the July issue of Blueprint magazine.

The current issue (June 07) of Lighting, features an interview with AA diploma school tutor Alex Haw. The article focuses on Haw's recent Lighthive installation in the AA's Front Members' Room which mapped activity throughout the AA's premises and displayed it through an LED based installation.

AA DRL's Theodore Spyropoulos practice Minimaforms will be presenting
work in Form Follows...Risk, an exhibition at The Futura Centre for
Contemporary Art in Prague. The group exhibition opens on 25 May and
runs until 29 July.
An international exhibition 'Form follows… risk' shown in Futura and
Karlin Studios in Prague presents a contemporary perspective of
sculpting and architecture. It will showcase important artists from the
USA, Germany, Austria, France, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. The
exhibition is to be organized in conjunction with the Slovakian
National Gallery in Bratislava, where it will be shown in an expanded
form in August 2007.

Shumon Basar's practice Newbetter features in the recently opened exhibition at the Architecture Foundation. The exhibition Blueprint for London looks at proposals to re-imagine the future of London, and also includes work by AOC, Tomas Klassnik, Marks Barfield and Witherford Watson Mann.

The exhibition runs from 30 March to 5 April at The Yard Gallery,

Margaret Dewhurst's winning pavilion design Bad Hair  graces the front cover of this week's issue of Building Design. Tutors Charles Walker and Martin Self's intermediate unit 2 students have been working on their designs throughout the academic year. All the designs were judged last Friday by a panel of architects including Alex de Rijke, Alison Brooks and Sarah Hare.

The pavilion will be constructed at the AA's Hooke Park facility in Dorset before coming to Bedford Square in July.

Building Design has announced that CABE has increased the amount of members on its design review panel to meet demand for an ever-growing workload. Among the new intake will be co-founder of S333 and AA tutor Dominic Papa.

Creative Review magazine has selected the AA's poster series of Ryan Gander as their Pick of the month. The poster was designed by AA Print Studio's Wayne Daly and Zak Kyes in collaboration with artist Ryan Gander who lectured at the AA on 9 February 2007.

Catherine Croft has awarded Jan De Cock's recent lecture at the AA four stars. She states: 'At the AA he could be pretty sure of a sophisticated and responsive audience. His performance was less than a lecture than a hectoring incitement to the emerging generation to engage with the issues his work raises.'

Jan de Cock's lecture took place on 15 March 2007. The review features in Building Design 23 March 2007.
