Research Interest

My current research is three-fold. Firstly, I continue to explore the linkages between aesthetic theory and connoisseurship in the reception of architecture during the early-twentieth century. This work will culminate in two publications, 'Bernard Berenson and the Art Market' (Lund Humphries, 2020) and 'A Beautiful Leisure' (manuscript, 2019). Secondly, another strand involves the continued exploration of defunct architecture in the contemporary United States, which will result in a publication 'Double Standards' (Lund Humphries, 2020) and exhibition. Finally, I am in the pre-production stages for a short documentary film on the demolition industry in China.
