Biography:

Argyris’ body of work intertwines architecture, fine art, spatial design, performance, and education. It researches grey zones between the being and image of things, as they morph within transitional states. He is a co-founder and co-director of Gesamtatelier, an interdisciplinary platform by and for practitioners from several creative fields. He presented works in exhibitions, festivals, conferences, and competitions, across Europe and USA, at institutions such as the Museumquartier, Déda, Watermans Art Centre, Architectural Association, 4th Biennial of Interior Design in Krakow, Romantso, Center on Halsted, among others. He has been a member of the art collaborative Collective Cleaners contributing to projects for the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and the Jane Adams Hull-House Museum. Architecture and design are a significant part of his professional practice which spans from exhibition design for the Field Museum Chicago, to freelance work as an interior architect and graphic designer. As an educator, Argyris has worked for the Interior Architecture & Design and Fine Art courses at the University of Suffolk, the Continuing Studies department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Design & Make workshops at the Hive, London. He is currently teaching at the Architectural Association School of Architecture and the Buckinghamshire New University. Having received a student grant by the Greek State Scholarship Foundation, he graduated with honours from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), School of Architecture, receiving a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Architecture.
