Bio: Lily Jencks (b 1980) lives and works in London as director of the award winning architecture and landscape firm LilyJencksStudio, and Land Art firm JencksSquared. Lily’s work spans the scale from urban parks to intimate interiors, creating spaces with strong identities and iconic forms derived from universal values. Working in close collaboration with clients and users, as well as scientists and other artists, each design has a distinct identity that appeals to a visitor’s intellect, as well as the pleasure of the built environment.
George Jeronimidis
Position:PhD Second Supervisor, PhD, AA Graduate School
Bio: George Jeronimidis is Emeritus Professor of Composite Material Engineering at the University of Reading and Director of the Centre for Biomimetics and President of Biokon International. Until March 2016 he was also Co-Director of the EmTech Programme at the AA School of Architecture in London where he continues to support the programme as an academic visitor and he is a Director of Studies and Academic Supervisor for the AA School’s PhD Programme. He received his PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Rome in 1970. From 1971 to 1979 he worked with Professor J.E. Gordon at Reading University on the mechanics of composite materials, wood and and other biological composite systems. Hi current research interests cover biomimetics, wood and composite mechanics, plant and animal biomechanics, bio-inspired robot systems, smart materials and structures and bio-inspired architecture.

Christopher Mark Johnson

Bio: Christopher Johnson holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Furniture Design from RISD, and an AA Diploma Honours. He has been designing reading instruments at White Box Black Box since 2016.
Ema Hana Kacar

Bio: Ema Hana Kačar is a London-based architect and designer, who graduated with an AA Diploma in 2018. Ema has trained at the offices of Diller Scofidio + Renfro in New York, B-architecten in Antwerp, and Bevk Perovic Arhitekti in Ljubljana. She has been a guest critic and tutor at the Architectural Association and Pratt Institute in New York.
Alexander Paul Kaiser

Bio: Alex Kaiser studied architecture at Oxford Brookes and the Architectural Association. In 2011 he co-founded the practice Ordinary Ltd, an East London-based studio focused on creative investigations at the intersection of architecture, digital fabrication, material sciences and theory. He also likes to draw.
Heiko Kalmbach

Bio: Heiko Kalmbach is a filmmaker, video artist and stage director. He started making films when he moved to New York City in the mid 90s where he stayed for ten years. His films have screened at Festivals like the Berlin International Film Festival, São Paulo Film Festival und CPH:DOX Copenhagen. He is co-founder of the Berlin based production company Spoonfilm and the New York / Berlin performance group Naturaleza Humana. His work as stage director and projection designer has been presented at Volksbühne Berlin, La MaMa E.T.C. NY, Theaterhaus Jena, Fusion Festival, Chamäleon Theater Berlin, Aarshi Theater Group Kolkata, Schlachthaus Theater Bern, Autorentheatertage at Thalia Theater Hamburg, Crash!Boom!Bau! Festival, Dramafest Mexico City, the Kitchen NY, and on worldwide tour with the y2d/Chamäleon production LEO which was awarded the Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award, Three Weeks Editors Award, Scotsman Fringe First Award, Adelaide Critics Circle Award, Adelaide Fringe Award and the John Chattaway Innovation Award.
Mariam Kapsali

Bio: Mariam Kapsali graduated with Distinction from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the National Technical University of Athens and won an IKY scholarship to the MSc in Sustainable Environmental Design at the AA which she completed with Distinction. She has been a member of the SED teaching staff since 2012 and is an architect at Architype Architects. Mariam was a member of the Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development and a Research Fellow on Building Performance Evaluation at the Low Carbon Building Group at the School of Architecture Oxford Brookes University. Prior to joining the Architectural Association Mariam worked as an architect in Athens.
Amandine Maia Johanna Kastler

Bio: Amandine Kastler is an Oslo based Architect. Amandine worked at OMA/AMO Rotterdam and David Chippefield Architects London. She currently directs her own studio as well as the AA Visiting School in Lyngør Norway. Amandine studied at the AA, graduating with Honours in 2010. She was awarded multiple prizes including the RIBA Bronze Medal.
Harry Thomas Kay

Position:Course Consultant - Year 1, Media Studies, AA Undergraduate School
Bio: Harry is an architect and designer based between the Lake District and London. His professional background has spanned across set design, installation art, lighting design and architecture. He established his practice WORKKS. in early 2018. Harry has an academic and practical interest in utilising new technologies in design and fabrication. To deliver buildings and experiences that are informed by their context and thoughtfully developed from concept to completion. Harry graduated from the AA with Honours in 2014, and frequently teaches at the University of Nottingham School of the Built Environment.
