2018 marks 100 years since the birth of Sheikh Zayed - the founding father of the United Arab Emirates. Today, the United Arab Emirates is recognized for its incredible growth and prosperous society that reflect the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed. In a conversation about “Zayed, the Urbanist” Ahmed and Rashid Bin Shabib provide an extensive exploration of the United Arab Emirate’s remarkable urban development that achieved modernity while preserving the nation’s authentic cultural and social heritage. In a relatively short span of time, the urban fabric of the United Arab Emirates has integrated key developments and flourishing industries, making it an exemplary contemporary model, guided by the late Sheikh Zayed’s wisdom and vision.
