Principal of the Paris-based architectural office dECOi, Mark Goulthorpe has taught at the University of Kassel and at the AA. dECOi projects have been exhibited and published worldwide. In 1998 dECOi won a competition to design an interactive art piece for the foyer of the Birmingham Hippodrome, leading to the creation of a dynamic hyposurface - a responsive surface that reacts physically to events happening around it.
