With just a few places remaining the AA Membership Office is organising a weekend visit to the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale, Common Ground, directed by David Chipperfield. Vanessa Norwood, head of AA Exhibitions and co-curator of this year's British Pavilion (with Vicky Richardson, British Council), will lead a private talk at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini on her involvment in the project.

In addition to the talk the group will visit Carlo Scarpa. Venini 1932-1947, curated by Marino Barovier, with over 300 pieces on display. This exhibition marks the opening of the Cini Foundation's permanent exhibition space, Rooms for Glass (Le Stanze del Vetro), newly restored by New York based architect Annabelle Selldorf. The glass museum is a result of a long-term cultural project to showcase the art of Venetian glassmaking in the 20th century.

Members attending this trip will also get a 3-day Biennale pass pass, two nights’ stay at the Vittore Branca Centre Residence on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore and a place at a group meal on one night. Flights are not included. To book a place email Joanne McCluskey on events@aaschool.ac.uk or telephone 02078874034.
