Moscow

Dates TBC

AA Visiting school Moscow is an experimental research platform set up to explore the problems and potentials of urban areas through speculative projects of different scales.

The first series of workshops is focused on the Shabolovka area in Moscow, the so-called ‘museum of constructivist heritage’. In 2016 AAVS Moscow explored and tested possible development scenarios for the site at a neighbourhood scale. While in 2017, participants proposed 4 different projects of architectural objects as potential engines for the start of the site transformation.

Supported by the local community and stakeholders, this year participants will design and build a light structure for the neighbourhood. Led by emerging young urban designers and architects, the design process will be context-driven and aimed at the development of visual and interactive effects through simple architectural means and methods.

This project will be complemented by an exhibition at a local gallery, a publication and a series of panel discussions and roundtables with the local professional community.
