Exhibitions are open Monday to Friday 10:00-19:00, Saturday 10:00-15:00, unless otherwise stated.
London is an informal compilation of images taken at the turn of the 1980s. Stuart Haden’s work documents the people, places and architectures which make up the city as a site of social existence. The primary content of the images are the games, fashions, conversations and personal journeys which, at any moment, generate the dynamic essence of this great city.
Stuart Haden studied at Hammersmith College of Art and Building 1961-1964 and the Architectural Association 1964-1970. As an architect, photographer and inventor of The Rat Race board-game, he also taught architectural design at the Mackintosh School of Architecture 1973-1977 and the University of Texas 1977-1979. While in Texas, Haden began concentrating on photography, studying under the renowned street photographer Garry Winogrand. Haden’s photographs have been exhibited consistently since the 1970s.
