‘The Price of War’ : Recording, Publishing and Preserving Art, 1939-1945 - Paul Mellon Centre’s display, Monday to Friday 10am-5pm
The display, which is free and open Monday to Friday 10am-5pm, is called: ‘The Price of War’ : Recording, Publishing and Preserving Art, 1939-1945.
It focusses on items created between 1938 and 1949 and explores the exhibition, publication, protection, destruction and restitution of art in wartime. It is not a comprehensive look at this period but rather an exploration of these themes through individual items in the Centre’s archive and library collections. See more info on Paul Mellon Centre’s website.
