The AA Cinema opened in November 2009. Pascal Schöning, who was Diploma Unit 3 master for many years, cut the ribbon on the night of the launch – appropriately enough, since it was his presence at the AA that was instrumental in making a space for film in the school.
The Film Club, which is curated by students, runs weekly screenings and the Cinema is booked by Units every day to watch films that are relevant to their courses and unit trips. The Photo Library holds a growing selection of feature films for use by AA students, to screen in the cinema or watch elsewhere as well as an important collection of lectures, conferences, symposia and other events presented at the AA.
The Cinema has 20 seats, which came from the Spa Theatre in Bridlington, and a screen, projector and Surround Sound. Popcorn can be arranged.
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for bookings.
The AA Cinema is licenced to screen films for AA students and staff only.
